Организация Euro NCAP опубликовала рейтинг безопасности шести новых моделей: Tesla Model 3, Skoda Scala, Kia Ceed, DS 3 Crossback, Mercedes-Benz GLE и B-класса. Все новинки получили высшие пять звёзд, но по баллам результаты неодинаковые.

Лучше всех себя показал хэтчбек Skoda Scala, набравший 37,1 из 38 возможных баллов. До идеального результата модели не хватило защиты водителя и переднего пассажира при лобовых столкновениях: она признана лишь «достаточной». Эксперты также оказались недовольны работой системы предупреждения о превышении скорости.

Новый Kia Ceed набрал 33,8 балла. При боковом ударе о столб есть риск травмы грудной клетки водителя, а при ударе сзади вероятны хлыстовые травмы шеи. В EuroNCAP поставили низкую оценку ещё и функции предупреждения о превышении скорости. Однако с дополнительным пакетом безопасности, куда входит функция автоторможения, Ceed заработал максимальные пять звезд.

Mercedes-Benz B-класса последнего поколения набрал 36,6 балла. Компактвэн выступил лучше GLE в большинстве дисциплин, но у него тоже обнаружились проблемы с ассистентом удержания в полосе, а также низкая степень защиты грудной клетки переднего пассажира при лобовом ударе со 100-процентным перекрытием.

Кроссовер DS 3 Crossback оказался небезопасным для пешеходов из-за нижней зоны передних стоек. В связи с отсутствием в базе автоторможения модель набрала только четыре звезды, но с опциональным оснащением, которое включает в себя дополнительные системы безопасности, она получила ещё одну звезду и 36,5 балла.
